Fujian's GDP grows 4 percent in first half of 2026

Fujian province's GDP reached 2.93 trillion yuan ($432.76 billion) in the first half of 2026, up 4 percent year-on-year in constant prices. The value added of the province's primary, secondary, and tertiary industries stood at 125.98 billion yuan, 1.25 trillion yuan, and 1.56 trillion yuan, respectively, with year-on-year growth rates of 3.6 percent, 3.8 percent, and 4.1 percent.

Agricultural production remained stable, with the total output value rising 3.7 percent year-on-year to 224.35 billion yuan. The output of major agricultural products, including vegetables, tea, edible fungi, and aquatic products, increased.

Industrial production maintained steady growth. The value added of industrial enterprises above designated size increased 5.9 percent year-on-year in the first half. Equipment manufacturing saw its value added increase 14.3 percent, accounting for 78.6 percent of the overall growth in the value added of industrial enterprises above designated size.

The service sector grew 4.1 percent from a year earlier, driven by growth in accommodation and catering, as well as wholesale and retail. Revenue of service enterprises above designated size rose 4.8 percent from January to May.

The consumer market expanded. Total retail sales of consumer goods in Fujian reached 1.28 trillion yuan in the first half, up 1.6 percent year-on-year.

Fujian residents' per capita disposable income reached 27,685 yuan in the first half, up 4.6 percent year-on-year in nominal terms and 3.8 percent in real terms.

Foreign trade experienced steady growth. Fujian's total imports and exports of goods reached 995.89 billion yuan in the first half, up 8.2 percent year-on-year. Exports totaled 574.01 billion yuan, an increase of 1.7 percent from the previous year, while imports totaled 421.89 billion yuan, up 18.5 percent year-on-year.
