Zhou Zuyi Meets with Deputy Speaker Lajos Oláh of the Hungarian National Assembly

On March 25, Zhou Zuyi, Secretary of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Fujian Provincial People’s Congress, met in Fuzhou with Lajos Oláh, Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly.

On behalf of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and the Provincial Government, Zhou welcomed Deputy Speaker Lajos Oláh and his delegation, and gave a brief overview of Fujian’s latest development. Zhou noted that the traditional friendship between China and Hungary has a long history. In recent years, Fujian and Hungary have maintained close and fruitful economic, trade and people-to-people exchanges. Currently, Fujian is further carrying forward the important concepts and major practices pioneered by President Xi Jinping during his tenure in the province. Guided by the blueprint for building a New Fujian, the province is comprehensively promoting high-quality development, with its economic and social undertakings continuing to progress steadily and positively. It is hoped that Deputy Speaker Lajos Oláh’s visit will serve as an opportunity to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state. By deepening practical cooperation in areas such as sister-city relations, industrial development, and people-to-people exchanges, the two sides can jointly advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and contribute still more to China-Hungary friendship.

Lajos Oláh expressed his delight in revisiting Fujian. He said, the friendly ties between Hungary and Fujian run deep, offering enormous potential for cooperation. He hoped to work with Fujian to identify more areas of cooperation, strengthen partnerships in areas such as economy, trade, investment, ecological conservation, culture, tourism, education and personnel training, in a bid to deliver fruitful results and win-win benefits.

Provincial leaders Wu Xielin and Wang Yongli attended the meeting.
