Mayor of Toledo Visits Fujian

Carlos Velázquez Romo, Mayor of Toledo, visited Fujian Province from September 6-10, fostering exchanges and exploring cooperation with Fuzhou, Xiamen, and Quanzhou.

 

In Fuzhou, Zhou Zuyi, Secretary of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Fujian Provincial People’s Congress, met with Romo. Zhou highlighted Fujian’s vision and its long-standing ties with Spain, referencing a recent MoU signing on world heritage cooperation between Quanzhou and Toledo. He expressed hopes for enhanced collaboration in heritage protection, culture, and tourism.

 

Romo sought to strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges for mutual learning and fruitful cooperation.

 

During the Fuzhou visit, the delegation explored heritage conservation at the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys and learned about jasmine tea production and trade at Chunlun Group.

 

In Xiamen on September 8, they attended the 25th CIFIT, exploring business and logistics opportunities. They also visited Kulangsu Island to understand its heritage preservation and musical traditions.
