Fiji's Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka Visits Fujian

From August 14 to 16, Prime Minister of the Republic of Fiji Sitiveni Rabuka visited Xiamen, Ningde and Fuzhou, accompanied by the Chinese Ambassador to Fiji Zhou Jian and the Special Envoy for Pacific Island Countries Affairs of the Chinese Government Qian Bo.

 

 

On August 15, Secretary Zhou Zuyi met with Prime Minister Rabuka in Fuzhou. Zhou highlighted the fruitful cooperation between Fujian and Fiji in poverty alleviation, Juncao technology, economy and trade, and education in recent years and called on both sides to promote friendly exchanges and deepen practical cooperation in poverty reduction, infrastructure, shipbuilding, aquaculture, Juncao technology, education, and tourism. Zhou stressed that Fujian’s commitment to high-quality development will create broader space for Fujian-Fiji exchanges and cooperation.

 

Prime Minister Rabuka commended Fujian’s economic and social achievements, particularly in port development, shipbuilding, aquaculture, clean energy, ecological conservation, and poverty alleviation. He hoped to draw on Fujian’s successful experience and practices and facilitate mutually-beneficial exchanges and cooperation between the two sides across the board.

 

During his stay in Fujian, Prime Minister Rabuka visited CATL, Ningde Poverty Alleviation and Development Exhibition Hall, and Mawei Shipbuilding Company.
