Melaka Chief Minister Visits Fujian

From June 23 to 25, a 25-strong delegation led by Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Yusoh, Chief Minister of Melaka, Malaysia, visited Fujian. 

 

On June 24, Secretary Zhou Zuyi met with the delegation in Fuzhou. Noting that this year marks the 50th anniversary of China-Malaysia diplomatic ties and the Year of China-Malaysia Friendship and citing the historical connections between Fujian and Melaka, Secretary Zhou called for concerted efforts to strengthen the bonds of friendship, deepen business and industrial cooperation, promote two-way investment, and expand people-to-people exchanges, so as to make greater contributions to jointly building a China-Malaysia community with a shared future, as agreed by leaders of the two countries in 2023. 

 

Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh expressed readiness to enhance practical cooperation with Fujian on high-tech, new energy, port, tourism and education and pledged to make it easier for Fujian enterprises to invest and operate in Melaka, with a view to delivering win-win outcomes and common development. 

 

 

During the stay in Fujian, the delegation visited Fuzhou National High-tech Industrial Development Zone and potential Fujian investors.
