Guo Ningning, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor of Fujian Province, met with the 10th Political Leaders Delegation from Pacific Island Countries in Fuzhou on April 20. The delegation was led by Samiu Vaipulu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice of the Kingdom of Tonga.
During the meeting, Guo Ningning highlighted the deep historical and cultural ties between Fujian and the Pacific Island countries, as well as the successful cooperation in recent years in areas such as poverty reduction, fisheries, culture, and education. She expressed her hope that both sides could strengthen inter-party exchanges and expand trade and economic cooperation, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, agriculture, fisheries, and energy. She also called on both sides to further leverage the China-Pacific Island Countries Poverty Alleviation and Cooperative Development Center and the Juncao Technology Demonstration Center to deepen cooperation in poverty reduction and development.
Samiu Vaipulu acknowledged the valuable experience Fujian has in poverty alleviation and expressed his desire to learn more from Fujian about economic development. He also expressed his commitment to expanding cooperation between the Pacific Island Countries and Fujian for mutual benefit.
