Celebration of 30th Anniversary of China-ROK Diplomatic Ties Held in Fuzhou

A celebration to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Republic of Korea took place in Fuzhou on September 9. Around 50 people, including representatives of governments, businesses, and universities from both sides participated in the event. Guo Ningning, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor, and Han Jae Heuk, ROK Consul General in Guangzhou, addressed the audience.

In her remarks, Guo thanked people from all sectors who have long cared about and supported the economic and social development of Fujian and the friendly ties between Fujian and ROK. After a review of Fujian-ROK cooperation over the years and an update on Fujian’s latest developments, she called on the two sides to further expand pragmatic cooperation in science, technology, education, and health, and strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges and mutual learning, so as to take Fujian-ROK relations to the next level.

Han Jae Heuk noted the fruitful outcomes for businesses from both sides at the 22nd China International Fair for Investment and Trade with ROK as the guest of honor country. He hoped that both can take the 30th anniversary as an opportunity to further expand and deepen exchanges and cooperation across the board, and jointly usher in a brighter future for China-ROK relations.

At the gathering, the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and the foreign affairs offices of Fuzhou, Xiamen and Nanping received a token of appreciation from the general consulate for their contribution to the development of friendly relations at the local level.
