Xiamen received multiple accolades, including the "MICE-friendly City of the Year" award at the 15th Expo Investment Fair for International Exhibition Cooperation, held in Beijing. MICE refers to meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions.

The Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce and Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Convention and Exhibition led a delegation of 11 local industry players to the event. The delegation included representatives from venue operations, conference services, exhibition construction, and premium convention hotels.

The city also made its mark with a branded pavilion showcasing its strengths as a premier MICE destination.

According to industry insiders, the award is both a mark of international recognition and a testament to Xiamen's strengths — from its favorable business environment and supportive policies to its top-tier venues, services, and extensive event-hosting expertise.

Agreements were signed during the fair to support the 9th Xiamen MICE Week, the China Outbound Exhibition Cooperation Conference, and the 2nd Xiamen MICE Supply Chain Expo.

By joining forces, Beijing and Xiamen aim to leverage their combined strengths in the MICE domain, foster cross-regional collaboration, and further cement Xiamen's reputation as a leading MICE destination in China.

The Xiamen delegation also held one-on-one talks with several national industry associations, including the China Maternal and Child Health Association.

These discussions led to a number of preliminary cooperation agreements, securing a strong pipeline of high-quality events for Xiamen's MICE calendar in the latter half of this year and beyond.
