Xiamen King Long United Automotive Industry Co Ltd recently delivered 121 new energy buses for shipment to Copiapo, Chile. This milestone will help the city become the first in Latin America to operate a fully electric public transportation system.
The nine-meter-long buses are equipped with high-power motors to handle Copiapo's steep slopes, while wheelchair ramps and security systems enhance accessibility for passengers with disabilities.
Since first entering the Chilean market in 2007, King Long has deployed over 1,500 buses nationwide, solidifying its presence in the region's public transportation sector.
In recent years, King Long has pursued a "going global" strategy, expanding into markets across Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Most recently, a shipment of 155 King Long buses departed from Xiamen Port bound for Saudi Arabia.
With superior product performance, innovative technology, and premium services, the Chinese manufacturer has become a key partner in Saudi Arabia's public transportation green transition.
According to company data, King Long has exported over 140,000 buses to nearly 150 countries and regions worldwide. The first quarter of 2025 saw particularly strong growth, with a 127.9 percent year-on-year increase in export revenue and 95.4 percent growth in unit sales.
