Vice Governor Guo Ningning Attends China-South Africa Business Video Dialogue

With a focus on “Political Party Exchange and Practical Cooperation”, the China-South Africa Business Video Dialogue was held on April 29. 150 participants, including Deputy Minister of the CPC International Department Shen Beili, Fujian Vice Governor Guo Ninging, Chinese Ambassador to South Africa Chen Xiaodong, attended the meeting co-organized by China Economic Cooperation Center, Fujian Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Fuzhou Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, The ANC Progressive Business Forum and The Government of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.



In her address, Vice Governor Guo Ningning introduced Fujian’s unique strengths in economic and social development, and reviewed Fujian’s exchanges and cooperation with South Africa. She expressed the hope for stronger two-way investment and industrial cooperation between the two sides, and encouraged top-ranking Fujian digital enterprises to go global and share technologies, experience and opportunities with South African and other countries and regions along the Belt and Road. She also welcomed further cooperation with BRICS countries in such fields as policy coordination, personnel training, project development, R&D as well as infrastructure and industrial connectivity.



Speakers from South Africa gave a briefing on the country’s trade and investment with China, and welcomed closer cooperation in tourism, investment, technologies, infrastructure to boost South Africa’s post-Covid economic recovery and development and facilitate synergy between the Belt and Road Initiative and Agenda 2063. They also reviewed the outcomes of cooperation between Fujian and KwaZulu-Natal in education and agriculture.



During the interaction session, competent authorities and business leaders exchanged views on how to step up bilateral cooperation.
