President of the Republic of Kenya William Ruto visited Fuzhou and Ningde from April 24 to 25.
On April 24, Secretary Zhou Zuyi met with President Ruto in Fuzhou. Reviewing the longstanding friendship between the two countries and the meeting between President Xi Jinping and President William Ruto, Zhou emphasized that the two presidents’ decision to build a China-Kenya community with a shared future for the new era and create an inspiring example in the all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era charts the course for further deepening bilateral exchanges and cooperation. Fujian is ready to work with Kenya, guided by the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state, to carry forward the traditional friendship, foster people-to-people connections, increase sister-city exchanges, and take cooperation between the two sides to new heights.
President Ruto spoke highly of Kenya-China relations and recapped key outcomes of his meeting with President Xi. He thanked Fujian for the hospitality accorded to the delegation and expressed hope to strengthen practical and win-win cooperation with Fujian in areas of economy, trade, new energy, culture, and tourism.
During his visit, President Ruto toured the “Vision 3820” Development Strategy Exhibition and FCIC Science and Innovation Industrial Base in Fuzhou, as well as CATL and Poverty Eradication Theme Exhibition in Ningde.
