Fujian hosts reception marking 77th anniversary of PRC founding

Fujian province held a reception in Fuzhou on Sept 28 to mark the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC).

More than 200 Chinese and foreign guests attended, including consular officials based in Xiamen, visiting foreign government officials, representatives of foreign-funded enterprises, as well as those from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, foreign experts and teachers, overseas Chinese, and officials from provincial and Fuzhou municipal government departments.

Zhao Zenglian, vice-governor of Fujian province, said the province is steadily advancing its practice of Chinese modernization. He cited steady economic growth, faster development of industrial clusters, growth in new quality productive forces, expanded Maritime Silk Road trade routes, and record-high foreign trade.

As this year marks the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) period, Fujian will pursue high-quality development, expand high-level opening-up, and welcome international partners to cooperate with the province.

Sasarak Sasivanij, consul-general of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Xiamen, congratulated China on the anniversary and praised its achievements in innovation and economic and trade cooperation. She said ASEAN countries, including Thailand, are willing to deepen exchanges with China in trade, education, science, and culture.
