King of Cambodia Norodom Sihamoni Visits Fujian

Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni paid a three-day visit to Fujian Province from December 19 to 21.

On December 19, Secretary Zhou Zuyi met with King Sihamoni and his delegation in Fuzhou. Noting that this year marks the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Cambodia and the Year of China-Cambodia Friendship, he said that the bond between Fujian and Cambodia runs deep, evident in the frequent people-to-people exchanges and robust commercial ties. Next year marks the China-Cambodia Year of People-to-People Exchanges. Following the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, Fujian will deepen practical cooperation, strengthen exchanges, and expand cultural tourism markets with Cambodian side.

King Sihamoni said it is his second visit to Fujian, during which he will visit Fuzhou and Xiamen to get a better understanding of the development following the course charted by President Xi Jinping. He said, the traditional friendship between China and Cambodia is forged by the older generation of leaders of the two countries. He hoped to carry forward this ironclad friendship, and deepen and sustain the China-Cambodia comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, so as to deliver more tangible benefits to the two peoples.

During his stay in Fujian, King Sihamoni visited the Exhibition Hall commemorating the 30th anniversary of the implementation of the “3820” strategic project, Xiamen University, Yundang Academy, and Nanputuo Temple.
