The 7th China (Quanzhou) Maritime Silk Road International Brand Expo was held in Shishi, Fujian province from Dec 24 to 26, attracting more than 150 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions such as Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines, which was this year's guest of honor.

The expo set up 322 standard booths showcasing more than 10,000 kinds of goods to create a more specialized and quality-oriented exchange platform for the countries and regions along the Belt and Road.

The Philippines and China, especially southern Fujian, enjoy a long history of friendly exchanges, said Maria Antonina Mendoza Oblena, consul general of the Philippine in Xiamen.

"We hope that more Chinese consumers can discover more about Philippine products through this platform, and the exchanges and interaction between Philippine and Chinese enterprises can be enhanced," Oblena added.

The expo has been held six times to promote economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between China and countries and regions along the Maritime Silk Road, and it has achieved significant results in promoting China's independent brands to go global, introducing more excellent international brands in the Chinese marketplace as well as carrying out international brand cooperation, said Yu Jianlong, secretary-general of the China Chamber of International Commerce.
