A 730-kilogram batch of strawberries from Dalian, Liaoning province, was transported to Singapore on flight MF851 via Xiamen's first "air-to-air transfer" fruit export.
Air cargo "air-to-air transfer" refers to a transportation method in which goods are delivered to their destination using two or more connecting flights. This method helps optimize cargo routes, provide more convenient air freight connections, and lower transportation costs.
Strawberries are classified as "fresh, specialty, and time-sensitive" export goods. They are highly susceptible to damage and spoilage from even minor mishandling and do not withstand long transport well, which places extremely high demands on freshness preservation and delivery speed. In the past, the lack of a direct flight from Dalian to Singapore significantly constrained transportation.
Now, thanks to Xiamen's extensive Southeast Asian flight network and its "air-to-air transit" customs clearance model, strawberries can travel from warehouses in Dalian to store shelves in Singapore in under 24 hours, ensuring exceptional freshness.
