Secretary Yin Li Meets with Philippine Foreign Secretary

Secretary Yin Li met with Philippine Foreign Secretary Teodoro Locsin in Wuyishan, Nanping City, Fujian Province on April 2.

Secretary Yin welcomed the delegation and highlighted the long-standing ties and close exchanges between Fujian province and the Philippines. He said that the Philippines is the largest ASEAN trading partner of Fujian. Bilateral trade last year registered a rapid growth despite the impact of Covid-19. He hoped the two sides deepen and enrich the BRI cooperation in such areas as tourism, trade, and people-to-people exchanges. Fujian will encourage more Fujian-based enterprises to invest in the Philippines, and welcomes more entrepreneurs from the Philippines to share the opportunities in Fujian.

Foreign Secretary Locsin said, the Philippines and Fujian share a long history of friendship and kinship. He thanked the considerable assistance Fujian provided in terms of medical supplies and economic recovery, and hoped the two sides further energize the traditional friendship, strengthen cooperation and exchanges, and expand mutual investment for win-win outcomes.
