Fujian and Egypt Hold Online Conference on Digital Education

On September 29, China (Fujian) – Egypt Online Conference on Digital Education was held in Fuzhou, Beijing and Egypt. Guoningning, Vice Governor of Fujian Province, Dr. Ahmed Daher, Deputy Minister of Egypt’s Ministry of Education and Technical Education, Liao Liqiang, Chinese Ambassador to Egypt, and Dr. Mohamed Elbadri, Egyptian Ambassador to China attended the meeting.

 

In her speech, Guo said the conference will help push forward the consensus reached between Chinese and African leaders. As an active player in the Digital Silk Road initiative, Fujian province is working with Egypt and other BRI partners in building internet connectivity hubs, business information sharing platforms and new engines for people-to-people exchange. Fujian will encourage more digital companies to go global, and work with Egypt to elevate bilateral digital cooperation to new heights.

 

 

Dr. Daher set out that, Egyptian-Chinese cooperation in the fight against the COVID-19 reflects the strength and durability of the two countries’ friendship. The pandemic poses great challenges to offline education, forcing education authorities to fast-track digital solutions. Egypt’s Ministry of Education has partnered with Netdragon from Fujian to deploy its K-12 education platform. Egypt welcomes more partners from Fujian and China.

 

Representatives from digital businesses, educational institutions and relevant government departments from both sides also shared their ideas in the conference.
