Vice Governor Guo Ningning Meets with Oregon Delegation

On September 27, Vice Governor Guo Ningning met with the Oregon delegation led by Rep. Jeff Barker.

Guo welcomed the delegation who was in Fujian for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and thanked Oregon’s support over the years in promoting Sino-US friendship and friendly exchanges and cooperation between Fujian and Oregon. Noting the progress both sides had made in developing sister state relationship in the past 35 years, she called for closer and stronger cooperation on ecological and environmental protection, culture, education, tourism, investment and trade in the future.

Rep. Barker applauded Fujian for the achievements in economic and social development over the past decades and reaffirmed Oregon’s commitment to continued friendly relationship with China. Both sides also exchanged views on the trade frictions between the two countries, and expressed their expectations for an early settlement through friendly negotiations.
