Uzbek Media Delegation Visits Fujian

Organized by Fujian Foreign Affairs Office, the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan, a delegation of eleven journalists from Uzbek mainstream media outlets, including the national radio, news agency and mainstream news websites, visited Fuzhou and Xiamen from October 24 to 28.

As this year marks the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening up drive, the journalists were in Fujian to cover the related stories. In Fuzhou, they interacted with their counterparts from Fujian Media Group and Fujian Daily, visited textile company Highsun Group and took a walk on the Fudao skywalk. In Xiamen, they appreciated Chinese culture in Huihe Stone Cultural Park and Qianchayuan Teahouse after a tour to Xiamen University and Gulangyu Island.

Associate Counsellor Luo Guansheng of Fujian Provincial Foreign Affairs Office met with the delegation in Fuzhou. He briefed them on Fujian’s economic and social development and reviewed the friendly exchanges between Fujian and Uzbekistan. Mr. Luo hoped that the journalists could introduce Fujian to Uzbek people through their lens and pens, and facilitate people-to-people exchanges.

The delegation appreciated the opportunity to experience first-hand the economic and social development in Fujian. They believed that China and Uzbekistan, both with a strong textile industry, can strengthen exchanges and cooperation in this area under the Belt and Road Initiative.
